OCDH is a non-governmental, not-for-profit humanitarian and economic development organization founded with a mission to assist, empower, and help firmly establish a productive and self-sustainable environment for the most vulnerable communities within the Dominican Republic, located in the bateys of the northern region of the country.

From the co-founder

Our long-term goal is to serve the Dominican-Haitian populations living within the most isolated and destitute rural communities within the Dominican Republic. However, in the short term, we are a encouraging all of our OCDH friends in the US, Dominican Republic and Haiti to give and help with the relief effort. We have sent a small group of doctors as a part of a larger medical team to Port-au-Prince, and are also coordinating and facilitating the efforts of indivuals and organizations on the ground in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. We have established a special Haiti Earthquake Fund to help finance these efforts.

Because we are a volunteer organization, 100% of your HelpHaiti donation goes directly to support the medical, rescue, and translator volunteers who are on the ground. Your money will be used to purchase the supplies that are specifically requested by the field team and taken across the border to Haiti from the Dominican Republic. Remember to write OCDH/HAITI in the description on paypal.

The members of City Of Refuge COGIC donated over $1,000.00 last week to assist in the efforts in Haiti.

Special Thank you to the Macedonia church famliy, who gave from their hearts on Sunday, January 17. Collectively, the church gave over $1,000.00 to assist OCDH in its efforts to help the victims of the earthquake.  Pastor Burton, OCDH thanks you for being a vehicle for the cause.
